4. Preparing for Holy Communion: It is good and right to always be prepared to receive Holy Communion. To do this, please allow a moment before the singing of the communion hymns while the organist plays a musical arrangement to pray. Prayers are located in the front cover and back cover of your hymnal for such purposes. Last Sunday, January 15th, we began offering both individual cup and the common cup on both sides. Because of this it will not be necessary for people to have to cross over. Everything else will stay the same.
5. Sunday School: In Sunday School today students learned the story “Jesus Calls Matthew.” We sinners rejoice, for we, too, have been called from our own pigsty of sin to dine with Jesus around His table, and to be a friend of the friend of sinners. Consider discussing, “How did Jesus call Matthew to be one of His followers? How and why does Jesus call us to follow Him?”
6. Quarterly Voter’s Meeting: The first quarterly voters meeting for 2012 will be Sunday, January 22 following our Divine Service.
7. C. F. W. Walther: The Walther Series is completed. Thank you to the ones who attended.
8. Offering Envelopes: You may pick up your 2012 offerings in the back of the church.
9. 29 er’s Potluck Meal: You are invited to attend the monthly get together of the 29 er’s that will meet Wednesday, January 25th. It will begin at noon and it will be a potluck, so just bring a dish to share.
10. North wooden doors of church: The north wooden doors will be closed for the winter months. Please use any of the other entrances into church.
