4. Sunday School: The Sunday School students study the story of “Lydia” today. Just as God worked His miracle beside the river, clothing Lydia with Christ in Baptism, so God works His miracles in pulpits and fonts around the world today, destroying the work of Satan, ripping believers from the jaws of death, washing away sins in water tinged with Jesus’ blood, and clothing believers with His righteousness. Parents could ask, “How did God use water to save Lydia and us? Who does God use to reveal His Word to us today?”

4. Sunday School: The story of “Paul and Timothy” serves as the focus of Sunday School today. Just as many in Paul’s day thought, we think we must do something to be saved.
6. National Day of Prayer is Thursday, May 3. This year’s theme, “One Nation under God,” is based on Psalm 33:12, which reminds us that “blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” This year we are observing it by having the church open from noon to 1:00 for people to come and pray silently, as they have time. We know that our religious freedoms are under attack in the United States. You are encouraged to pray for the preservation of these freedoms. Please set aside time that day to come to the church to pray for forgiveness, for God’s blessings and guidance for our country’s leaders and military personnel, for the difficulties of loved ones, for our church and our pastor, and for your personal concerns, as well as offering thanks for God’s continued physical and spiritual blessings, and for His care in these difficult times.
