How to use the Website

So you’re thinking this new website is so confusing right? Well perhaps, but after reading this page, you should be able to work it fairly easily.

1. To start out, there is a section that I will refer to as ‘Main Navigation’. It looks like this:

You can click any one of these buttons which will take you to a main section page. Or you can just place your mouse over one of these buttons and it will open up a sub-menu with several other pages which are in this section.

2. There are two special sections, placing your mouse above the Post Categories section will show you  the categories in the blog section of the website. Clicking one of these options will take you to the frequently updated items such as weekly and monthly news. Pastor’s blog and sermons are also posted as an option.

3. The other special section is the Photo Gallery. Clicking this will take you to the section of the website where photos are stored. Feel free to look around and when you’re ready to return to this main web-page, click “Back to St. Paul Lutheran Homepage”.

4. Mentioned before was the blog post section of the website. Another way to view these posts is by using the side bar on the right.

Clicking one of these options in this box will sort all the posts on this website and show only the one you click.

5. Another feature of this new website is the option for you to get involved. You can become a member of the site and actually post comments on posts. You can also sign up to be automatically notified of updates to the site. To get your account, you will use the User options box found on the sidebar on the right.

Using the register button, you can sign up for an account.  From then on, you can click Log In to sign in to your account.

With an account, it also makes it easier to contribute to the website, not only through comments, but also your own posts. If you would like to get involved with the website and manage your own section, you may be granted permission to post certain topics through your user account.

6. To post comments, just navigate to a section in the blog where there are posts. You will then click on the title of the post you want to comment on. At the bottom of the post, there should be a comment box. Use this to type your comment in and Submit.

Notes: You must be logged in to comment. You cannot post comments on permanent pages, such as the home page, only blog posts. Please don’t spam, it will be filtered.
