2. Lutheran Hour: The Lutheran Hour can be heard on radio stations KJLY, Blue Earth, 104.5 FM, Sunday, 6:00 PM and KDHL, Faribault, 920 AM, Sunday, 6:00 PM.
3. Preparing for Holy Communion: It is good and right to always be prepared to receive Holy Communion. To do this, please allow a moment before the singing of the communion hymns while the organist plays a musical arrangement to pray. Prayers are located in the front cover and back cover of your hymnal for such purposes. We are now offering both individual cup and the common cup on both sides. Because of this it will not be necessary for people to have to cross over. Everything else will stay the same.
4. Sunday School: On this Transfiguration Sunday, the Sunday School students have studied the story of “The Transfiguration.” In the Transfiguration, we see Jesus as the pure and holy Son of God, whose perfect righteousness is given to us through God’s Word and Sacraments. Parents could ask, “What did Jesus reveal to His disciples about Himself in the Transfiguration? What does God’s Word reveal to us about Jesus?”
5. Parish Paper: The deadline for the March Parish Paper is Monday, February 20th.
6. Offering Envelopes: You may pick up your 2012 offerings in the back of the church. They will be in the church office after Ash Wednesday, Feb. 22nd.
7. 29 er’s: The next meeting is Wednesday, February 22 at 12:00 Noon. Catered Meal-Hot turkey sandwiches, vegetable soup, salad, pie, and coffee. $6.00 per plate. Call by February 19 to Judy Deling at 685-2100 or Judie Waters at 835-7414. Devotions by Pastor Zimmer.
8. Ash Wednesday: Ash Wednesday this year is February 22nd. Thrivent will serve the first of the Lenten suppers from 4:30 -5:45 p.m. The Mentoring Program will begin that evening with a meeting at 5:30 p.m. Ash Wednesday Divine Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. There will be NO 6,7,8 Catechism classes that night because of the Ash Wednesday services. All are invited to take part in all these activities as we begin the Lenten Season.
9. Lenten Supper: The Lenten Suppers will begin with Thrivent serving on February 22, Ash Wednesday from 4:30 -5:45 p.m. The menu will be hamburgers, potato salad, cake, and beverages.
10. Mentoring: The Board of Evangelism will be providing the mentoring program during this coming Lenten season. All the students in the Catechism classes are asked to take part in this. The mentor can be any member of the congregation who is confirmed and not an immediate family member(brother, sister, or parent). The mentoring books will be handed out at the first Lenten supper on Feb. 22 at 5:30 p.m. at a short informational meeting. The mentors and students will talk about the sermon text at the Lenten supper and then attend the church service together, the mentors are also invited to attend the catechism class at least one time with their student. This is being done to help our students and older members get to know each other and to help them learn how to talk about their faith with someone else. Please consider doing this if one of our students asks you to be a mentor.
11. Radio Broadcasts: The Ash Wednesday Service will NOT be broadcast over the radio, but beginning with the Lenten Vesper Services on February 29th at 6:00 p.m. through March 28th the Vesper Services will be broadcast over the radio. (Maundy Thursday which is at 6:00 p.m. will be on the radio as well.)

Congregation members that wish to compete will be asked to make their favorite soup (at least a 4 qt crock pot), and bring it to the Soup Fest. Everyone is invited to attend. Guests ages 6 and over will pay $5.00/person and will sample each of the soups entered. All guests will then vote for their favorite soup. The two soups with the most votes will then compete at the “Soup-er Bowl” on Sunday, March 11th at Bethlehem Lutheran in Morristown from 5 to 6:30pm. Check your church bulletin for details concerning dates and times. Let’s have some fun, sample some great soups and enjoy a little competition!
